Time: 1pm-4pm

No Class Thursday, July 4 and during X-boat Inland Wednesday-Thursday 7/24 & 7/25

The X-Boat class is designed for sailors ages 12-16 who are interested in learning to race competitively in the X boat-- a two-person boat unique to the Inland Lakes. Sailors will learn and perfect boat handling techniques, race strategy and tactics, and gain familiarity with the Racing Rules of Sailing.

The goal of the course is to equip sailors with the skills they need to compete at local and regional regattas.

This is a Bring Your Own Boat class.

This is a racing focused class. The knowledge and skills taught in this course will build upon past knowledge and weekly practices. Sailors will gain a more in-depth understanding of the Racing Rules of Sailing while being exposed to more advanced racing tactics and strategy.

This course also focuses on fine tuning the boat's rigging and proper boat handling techniques. Participation in all local and regional regattas is highly encouraged for Advanced X Boat sailors. This is a Bring Your Own Boat class.

This program is racing-oriented, some past experience is expected. If you are looking for a learn-to-sail class, check out our 420 for Teens program for an age-appropriate beginning sailing experience.
