MOTOR METER ~ Every Gift Raises the Line!

We Need Your Help — Now.

Our two safety boat motors have officially failed, and without them, we cannot safely run practices or regattas. Replacing them will cost $15,000, and we need our community to step up immediately.

If 60 families give $250, we’re fully funded.
If that’s not doable, $50 or $100 still gets us closer — every dollar counts.

These aren’t upgrades. This is about safety, reliability, and keeping our kids on the water.

All donations are tax-deductible through our 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

2025 Highlights: A Record-Breaking Year for PLSS

2025 was one of our strongest seasons yet — on the water, in the classroom, and across the Midwest sailing scene.  And this year, we made history.

A Historic First for PLSS:

• A PLSS sailor became the first ever to win the X-Boat Inland Championship three times — an achievement never before accomplished in the event’s history.

Major Competitive Achievements:

• Multiple Optimist fleet championships, including Green, LOP’N Sr/Jr, No Tears Sr, ILYA Green, and RWB Chip White.
• Standout X-Boat results: QUINT 1st & 2nd, TRAP top 5 finishes, GLSS 3rd, and top placements at ILYA Sr & Jr Fleets and the Blue Chip.
• MYST sailors qualified for seven national-level events, including: MISSA Mallory Champs, National Team Racing, Cressy Nationals, Atlantic Coast Champs, Great Lakes Champs, Great Oaks, and the Girls National Invitational.

Program Growth & Impact:

• 215 youth sailors and 20 adult sailors participated this summer.
• 60 fall sailors and 50 spring sailors continued their training beyond summer.
• Delivered 13 summer classes, plus 2 fall and 2 spring programs.
• Supported by 21 instructors and 1 full-time director.
• Maintained accessible programming with class rates under $13/hour.
