The Advanced Optimist course, designed for sailors aged 8-15, focuses on developing racing-specific knowledge and skills. Sailors in the Advanced class should be comfortable competing in the RWB fleet. Sailors participate in daily workouts which encourage team building and help prepare athletes to compete at a physically demanding level. Classroom sessions and on-the-water drills teach advanced boat handling techniques, enhance racing strategy and tactics, and further familiarize sailors with the Racing Rules of Sailing. Participants are expected and encouraged to attend local and regional regattas, including Lake Country Optis Pre-Season Clinic in May-June on Wednesday afternoons. 

This is a Bring Your Own Boat class.
