Let's Go Sailing ... PDF Print E-mail
The Pewaukee Lake Sailing School Board would like to welcome you to our 54th year of instruction in the science of sailing on Pewaukee Lake.

This course of instruction covers the principles of water safety, the theory of hulls and sail design, and teaches the principles of sailing, racing, and sportsmanship. All of this work is exclusively for educational, scientific, and charitable purposes.

The modest tuition pays most of the actual operating expenses but capital expenditures for equipment - particularly patrol boats, etc., - have been provided by donation through the generosity of friends of the Sailing School. We are hopeful that more of that generosity will prevail since we are a non-profit organization, exempt from income tax.

2009 Fall Youth and High School Sailing PDF Print E-mail

The PLSS and the Milwaukee Youth Sailing Team will be teaming up this fall to provide HS and Youth sailing opportunities in the greater Milwaukee and the Lake Country areas. Monday evenings are at the Milwaukee Yacht Club and Wednesday evenings are at the Pewaukee Yacht Club, with every Thursday a rotating race day at each club. Kevin Jewett, one of the area's premiere dinghy sailors and coaches will be coaching on Wednesday at the Pewaukee Yacht Club. Please see the website http://www.mystracing.org for further details. Practice starts August 24th and runs through October 29th.

The Milwaukee Youth Sailing Team (MYST) was formed to provide area sailors with the resources necessary to broaden their sailing horizons. The goal is to build upon the foundation laid by our outstanding junior sailing school. To further this tradition, an effort is being made to offer our best young sailors the opportunity to hone their skills against the finest youth sailors in North America. The best way to improve is to practice hard, train at the best clinics and race against top competition. The Milwaukee Youth Sailing Team program will give our young sailors the chance to do just that! We are committed to providing a level of support that many other youth sailors in the country already enjoy.
